RMO offers check cashing as a member service for active RMO members. The exact requirements depend on the type of check and the channel (in-branch or mobile deposit).
Members can cash:
- Payroll checks from a verifiable employer.
- Government checks (Social Security, tax refunds, unemployment, state assistance).
- Personal checks drawn on banks RMO recognizes.
- Cashier's checks and money orders.
- Business checks payable to the member (with appropriate documentation).
What you'll need to bring (in-branch):
- Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport).
- Your RMO membership card or MyRMO sign-in.
- The check, properly endorsed.
- Additional ID may be required for larger amounts under federal law.
Mobile check deposit (the easier route):
- Sign in to the MyRMO app, go to Deposits → Mobile Deposit.
- Photograph the front and back of the endorsed check.
- Funds are typically available within 1–2 business days; same-day availability is offered for some check types and tiers.
Check-cashing limits, fees, and hold times vary by check type and member relationship. The full schedule is available at any RMO Retail Center.
