If you need to close an RMO account, here is what you should know and how to proceed.

Before Closing:

  • Ensure your account balance is zero or arrange to transfer remaining funds to another account.
  • Cancel or redirect any automatic payments, direct deposits, or recurring transfers linked to the account.
  • Redeem any unused rewards points, as they may be forfeited upon closure.
  • Download any statements or tax documents you may need, as access to historical records may be limited after closure.

How to Close Your Account:

Account closures require verification and must be handled with the assistance of an Expert. Schedule an appointment through MyRMO or by calling us to initiate the process. During the appointment, the Expert will:

  1. Verify your identity.
  2. Confirm the account has no pending transactions, holds, or outstanding obligations.
  3. Process the closure and issue any remaining balance via transfer or check.

Important Notes:

  • Closing a checking or savings account does not affect other RMO products (credit cards, loans, insurance, etc.).
  • If you have an outstanding loan or credit balance, the account cannot be closed until the balance is paid in full.
  • RMO retains records per regulatory requirements even after closure.
