Returns should be simple, fair, and clearly stated up front. RMO members get a full 30 days to return — as long as anyone in the business — and every shopper gets transparent terms, inspected products, and a fast refund.

Return Policy Overview

This policy applies to all purchases made through shop.rmous.org and at participating RMO Retail Centers. Product-specific terms may apply and will be noted at the time of purchase. For step-by-step instructions and exchange details, see our Returns & Exchanges Policy.

30 Days for Members, 15 for Everyone

RMO members may return most items within 30 days of delivery. Non-members have 15 days. Items must be in their original condition, unused, and in the original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and documentation included.

No Restocking Fees for Members

Members never pay a restocking fee. For non-members, opened electronics and devices may be subject to a 15% restocking feewaived if the item is unopened, defective, or the return is our error.

Fast Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item. Members may also choose RMO Shop credit, applied instantly to your account on approval.

Inspected Before It Ships

Every pre-owned device is functionally tested and graded — Excellent, Good, or Fair — before it’s listed, so the item you receive matches what you ordered. If anything isn’t right, your return is covered.

How to Start a Return

  1. Log in to your MyRMO account and go to Order History
  2. Select the item(s) you wish to return
  3. Choose Return for Refund and select a reason
  4. Print the shipping instructions (a prepaid label is provided at no cost for defective, incorrect, or our-error returns)
  5. Ship the item in its original packaging within 7 days of initiating the return

You can also start a return at any RMO Retail Center by bringing the item and your order confirmation or receipt.

Return shipping. You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective, the wrong item was sent, or the return is due to our error — in which case RMO provides a prepaid return label at no cost.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return unless defective or damaged upon arrival:

  • Gift cards and prepaid cards
  • Digital downloads and software licenses
  • Personalized or custom-made items
  • Perishable goods
  • Items marked as “Final Sale” at the time of purchase
  • Opened consumables (ink, toner, batteries)

Defective or Damaged Items

If you receive a defective or damaged item, contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will provide a prepaid return label at no cost and ship a replacement or issue a full refund, including original shipping charges — with no restocking fee, for members and non-members alike.

Condition Requirements

To qualify for a full refund, items must be returned unused and undamaged, with original tags, packaging, accessories, cables, and documentation. Items that show signs of use or are missing components may receive a partial refund or be declined.

Electronics & Devices

Electronics and devices follow the same window — 30 days for members, 15 days for non-members. Opened electronics returned by a non-member are subject to a 15% restocking fee unless the item is defective; members pay no restocking fee. All returned electronics must include the original packaging, accessories, cables, and documentation.

Refund Processing

Once we receive your returned item, please allow 3–5 business days for inspection. Refunds are then issued as follows:

  • Credit/Debit Card: 5–10 business days
  • RMO Account: 1–3 business days
  • RMO Shop Credit (members): Instant upon approval
  • PayPal / RMOPay: 3–5 business days
