FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What money products does RMO offer for individuals?

RMO personal money brings together deposits — checking, high-yield savings, CDs, money market, and youth accounts (RMO Bank); investing and retirement including 401(k), brokerage, managed portfolios, and wealth planning (RMO Investments); and cash services and planning such as check cashing, currency exchange, and financial planning (RMO Financial).

Are RMO deposit accounts FDIC-insured?

Yes. RMO Bank deposit accounts — checking, savings, money market, and CDs — are FDIC-insured up to applicable limits ($250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category). Retirement and investment products are not deposits and are not FDIC-insured.

How do I open an account?

Most deposit accounts open online through MyRMO in minutes — provide your legal name, date of birth, SSN, and address, upload a photo ID, and fund the account. Membership can be completed in the same flow.

Do I need to be an RMO member to open a money account?

Most RMO money accounts are available to members, and membership unlocks member-rate APY plus reduced or waived fees. You can open an account and join in a single application through MyRMO.
