FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does RMO MyTech cover?

MyTech covers accidental damage (drops, cracked screens, spills), mechanical failure, and electrical failure on phones, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, and other eligible electronics. All tiers include $0 deductible on covered claims. MyTech does not currently include theft or loss.

How much does MyTech cost?

MyTech I is $4/month for single-device coverage. MyTech II is $8/month for multi-device under one plan. MyTech III is $12/month for expanded household devices with priority service. MyTech IV is $18/month for full household coverage with fast-track replacement. All plans require an active RMO membership.

Is there a deductible when I file a claim?

No. RMO MyTech has a $0 deductible on covered claims. Most competing electronics protection plans charge $50–$249 per claim — that’s the biggest cost difference between MyTech and AppleCare+, Asurion, or carrier plans.

Does MyTech cover theft or lost devices?

No. MyTech does not currently include theft or loss coverage. If theft and loss coverage are essential, options include AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss for iPhone users, carrier protection plans (Verizon Mobile Protect, AT&T Protect Advantage, T-Mobile Protection<360>), or a renters/homeowners policy with personal-property coverage.

How do I file a claim?

File claims online or in the MyRMO app — no paper forms. After approval, you’ll receive repair instructions, a replacement, or a buyout depending on the plan tier and the nature of the claim. Most claims are processed within 1–3 business days; same-day repair is available on MyTech III and IV.

Can I add MyTech to a device I already own?

Yes. Unlike AppleCare+ (60 days from purchase) or SquareTrade (30 days), RMO MyTech can be added to existing devices at any time once you’re an RMO member. Some waiting periods may apply for existing pre-conditions; details are in the plan documents.

How does MyTech compare to AppleCare+ or Asurion?

AppleCare+ only covers Apple products and charges $29 (screen) or $99 (other) per claim. Asurion plans typically charge $99–$249 per claim. RMO MyTech covers any eligible electronic — phones, tablets, laptops, more — under a single membership with $0 deductible. See the head-to-head: vs. AppleCare, vs. Asurion, vs. SquareTrade.
