Scammers use phone calls, emails, text messages, and fake websites to trick people into revealing personal and financial information. Here is how to protect yourself.
Recognizing Scams:
- Phishing Emails: Fake emails that appear to come from RMO asking you to click a link and enter your login credentials. Always check the sender address carefully and never click suspicious links.
- Smishing (Text Scams): Text messages claiming there is an issue with your account and urging you to call a number or click a link. RMO will never ask for sensitive information via text.
- Vishing (Phone Scams): Callers pretending to be RMO Experts asking for your password, PIN, or one-time passcode. RMO will never request these over the phone.
- Fake Websites: Spoofed websites designed to look like MyRMO. Always verify the URL before entering your credentials.
How to Stay Safe:
- Enable two-factor authentication on your MyRMO account.
- Use strong, unique passwords and change them periodically.
- Monitor your accounts regularly through MyRMO and enable transaction alerts.
- Never share your password, PIN, or security codes with anyone.
- When in doubt, hang up and call RMO directly using the number on the back of your card or on the official website.
If you receive a suspicious communication, report it through the Security Center in MyRMO or schedule an appointment through MyRMO or by calling us.
