Frequently asked questions

Do I need an RMO account to cash a check?

No bank account is required to cash most checks at an RMO Retail Center — bring a valid government-issued photo ID and your endorsed check. Members receive reduced fees.

What checks can I cash?

Payroll, government (Social Security, tax refunds, unemployment), personal, cashier's checks, and money orders, subject to verification.

How much does it cost?

Fees are shown up front before we cash your check and are designed to beat standalone check-cashing storefronts. Members pay less.
